Mission NIPUN Maharashtra: AI-Driven Assessments-Transforming Education System from within for 70 lakh students

To improve students’ Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) at scale, VOPA has built out the NIPUN Maharashtra app for SCERT Maharashtra, the apex educational body of the state.
It is set to scale our pilots from 350,000 students to 7,000,000 students; 20,000 teachers to 200,000 teachers; 1000 Education Supervisors to 10,000 Education Supervisors; from 5 districts to all 36 districts of the state of Maharashtra-and for the first time, bringing access to real time reports of students and remedial tools to 15 million parents.

How we are doing it?
- One time Training: Over 200,000 teachers and 120,000 headmasters to be trained and onboarded, facilitating swift project adoption and implementation.
- Enabling Centralization: SCERT Maharashtra to set the goals, pace, and action plans through our tech innovations, ensuring a customized approach that meets specific needs.
- Comprehensive Assessments: Monthly evaluations of over 70 lakh students, with data visually presented in dashboards for all stakeholders, driving targeted improvements.
- Data Empowerment: School leaders are equipped with data analysis and monitoring tools for informed decision-making.
- Recognition: Pre-Pilot project under CEO Mr. Rohan Ghuge (IAS) from Wardha received prestigious Skoch award in 2023, and Pilot awarded the internationally known Bett Asia Award in 2024.
